Some helpful tips about invitations:

  1. Addresses: It's helpful to start asking family and friends for any addresses that you might need as soon as you begin to look for invitations. This way you have everything organized by the time you are ready to mail them out. Believe me, being a recent bride myself, it will save you time and frustration.
  2. Postage: Most invitations with inserts (response, reception, direction cards, etc.) weigh more than one ounce, thus making the cost of postage $.60 per envelope. One ounce and under is $.37. If you have a square invite and it weighs 1oz. it will cost $.37 +$.12 to mail. A square invite that is 2 oz. is $.60 (just like the rectangular invites.) You can always take your sample to your local post office to check.
  3. Mailing invites: If your invites have a bow, knotted ribbon, charms, etc. (anything that is 3-dimentional) be sure to ask the Post Office to "hand cancel" them. This way they hand stamp your stamped envelopes, instead of the invites going through the machines and running the risk of getting torn up.
  4. Turnaround time for orders: I request 4-6 weeks to complete an order from the time the contract is signed & returned, (depending on the size and complexity of the order.) Early Spring  through late Summer are my busiest times, so placing your order as soon as possible ensures it will be completed in time. If you will need your order sooner, please let me know upfront so I can try to work within your time frame.
